The
Sisters
Strain
The Sisters Strain got their first taste of stardom at 14 years old when they were cast as photo doubles for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in their Warner Brothers film New York Minute. Although that job and an additional role in the FOX Searchlight film Amelia with Hilary Swank and Richard Gere launched them local success it was only enough to whet their appetites. Fearing their small town roots would hold them back from achieving their dreams they left Chatham-Kent at 17 for the big city of Toronto.

Their resumes consist of multiple appearances on Sci-Fi channel as twins who trick people in Scare tactics, "terrible tussling twins" in Todd and the Book of Pure Evil and man eating demons in Wynonna Earp not to mention numerous cameos in the Canadian Staple Murdoch Mysteries. These bookings as well as their personally written/produced and directed short films and web content built up to being cast as mean girls "Nikki and Lizzie" in MGM's remake of Carrie with Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore. The coveted position of number 5 and 6 on the cast list warranted them an invite to walk the Red Carpet Premiere in Los Angeles.

This trip left them longing for a life in the City of Angels so they worked to obtain their O-1 Visas and eventually made the move! Their lead role break came when they were cast to STAR as Leanne and Celeste in the Mar Vista feature Twinsanity which had a two year run on Netflix.

The girls soon took the city by storm as a character comedy and burlesque duo at prestigious venues like Harvelles, The Virgil, The Rainbow Room, Hollywood Improv and various other private venues around Los Angeles. That momentum was soon stifled by the onslaught of Covid.

Heart broken and penny less they returned home to Chatham to live with their parents, went back to school to obtain their real estate license and started selling houses locally with their father.
Some might think that would be the end of their story- but for these tenacious twin sisters- it was only the beginning...

The Sisters used this new found financial stability and life shake up to switch gears to following their true passion-writing and producing their own feature length films-starting with their directorial debut feature film Call of the Blackbird that is currently in it's festival run. The first of many exciting projects the Sisters have on their upcoming production slate.
Sisters Strain Films will be focused on stories that highlight the female experience, with as many women in key positions and crew as possible. Their projects will aim to specifically provide opportunities to and highlight Canadian artists, female artists, as well as casting culturally diverse talent.
